A group of men were sentenced in federal court after being implicated in a multi-agency drug bust that spanned several counties across California. They were booked at the Tulare County pretrial facility. A large amount of narcotics was found during a search by a deputy at the jail during the intake process. At approximately 10:50 p.m. an officer with the Visalia Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of East Oakridge. Officers had knowledge Alisha and Alfred were on probation with search terms. At approximately 9:50 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle in the area of Goshen and Kelsey which matched the description of a vehicle associated with an attempted burglary in Visalia last week, and a vehicle code violation. Upon officers contacting Alisha and Alfred for probation compliance check, they were found in possession of a large amount of US currency, a loaded handgun, digital scale and heroin and methamphetamine packaged for sales. Daniel Hernandez, 54, was contacted at the residence and found to have an outstanding no bail warrant for violation of probation. Officers also located items and evidence to suggest that “honey oil,” a concentrated form of marijuana, had been produced at the residence. At 8:53 a.m., the Visalia police department’s narcotics unit with the assistance of the special enforcement unit and Tulare area regional gang enforcement team (TARGET) served a search warrant in the 3500 block of west College. Brothers Jason and John Beebe are arrested for running meth, honey oil lab at 1500 block of west Harter. The driver of the involved GMC Yukon, Joreill Cabral 28, was arrested for DUI. The vehicle was observed by an undercover officer traveling southbound on Akers from Goshen. According to the Visalia Police Department, at 7:01 a.m., officers with the narcotics unit, with the assistance of the special enforcement unit and Tulare area regional gang enforcement team, served a search warrant in the 3500 block of west Tulare. At 7:35 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the area of east Mineral King and Main Street for a vehicle code violation. As officers made entry, suspect Alexander Legra, 50, attempted to destroy methamphetamine by putting it down the drain. The driver was contacted and identified as Yaphet Hightower, 20. The total weight of the narcotics was a ¼ pound of methamphetamine and over an ounce of heroin. The driver, Justin Barcelos, 32, was also wanted on outstanding warrants, and is believed to be responsible for theft-related crimes from surrounding agencies. Suspect Mary Morgan, 36, was also contacted at the residence and found in possession of cocaine and methamphetamine. Wiley was arrested on suspicion of having heroin and methamphetamine and for an outstanding $25,000 arrest warrant related to a previous drug bust. The bicyclist failed to stop at the intersection riding directly into the path of a GMC Yukon being driven northbound Santa Fe. Officers pulled over 32-year-old Christopher Arias last night near Plaza Drive and Goshen Avenue. The driver, Elizabeth Gibson, 39, of Visalia, was arrested for possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sales and an active arrest warrant. The victim was contacted and transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for a non-life-threatening stab wound to the chest. According to the Visalia Police Department, last Friday, Nov. 6, at 7:45 a.m. officers with the Visalia Police Department narcotics unit, special enforcement unit, and the Tulare County Agencies Regional Gang Enforcement Team (TARGET) served a narcotics search warrant in the 1500 block of west Harter. Officers with the special enforcement unit were in the area and both suspects were quickly apprehended.
